What is your job title, and where do you work?
Media & PR Manager for Central and Northern New York at National Grid
What do you enjoy about working in public relations?
The big umbrella of emergency, crisis and incident communications. It puts all of your skills to the test at once as you balance institutional statements, operational activities and manage relationships with local outlets. There’s an endorphin rush when working with our reporters during a crisis or emergency to help them tell the story for our customers.
Are there any PR trends that you are excited about?
I’ve always been interested in data and media monitoring, and I’m intrigued by the new generation of AI-guided tools that offer predictive modeling to anticipate reputational impacts.
What’s your go-to book, TV series, or podcast that you recommend to friends?
For podcasts, it's the
Shutdown Fullcast or
Pablo Torre Finds Out. For books, I've fallen hard for
Deanna Raybourn's
Killers and
Richard Osman's
Thursday Murder Club serieses.
It’s the weekend! What are you doing for fun?
Sitting on the deck with my wife with some music and beverage (or two). Except for the winter months, when we’re most likely to be found at
Nobody’s in Armory Square.
